The Wordpress Bandwagon

I'm thinking about switching to Wordpress. It seems like the thing to do right now, and as I got to thinking about it, I realized that all these ship-jumpers have a point. Blogger is limiting. The upload format is frustrating. Spacing and other elements always seem to go haywire. And it's starting to really bug me.

Plus, I help my mom with her Wordpress blog and so I've already become used to what it has to offer. And I'm jealous. And I don't want to be jealous of my mom anymore. :)

My only concerns: Should I try to transfer all posts to the new blog? Or should I just start fresh on the new platform and build from there?

Anyone done this recently? Advice? Thoughts?

  1. ugh... I'm feeling the same thing! I have 3 blogs (only 2 that I post on, and one is very rarely) on blogger so I'm just so used to blogger. And its so easy. Let me know what you decide to do!

  2. I got set up with Go Daddy & they have it set up so they transfer everything over for you. It seems daunting at first, but honestly, it's not that bad. I would transfer all your posts to Wordpress- again, they do it for you so it's no worries.

One thing- you want (I imagine) Wordpress.org, not Wordpress.com- .com is the free one.

Let me know if you have questions!

  3. I know what you mean about Blogger... uploading images and arranging them properly is definitely a pain in the butt!
The idea of moving everything seems daunting though, lol

  4. I have a few issues with Wordpress, like linking, but none that compare to what I've heard with Blogger. Sounds like Shauna answered your question about transferring. Good luck Heather!
